Join us in saving a piece of history!
The Transit Museum Society is currently seeking donations to help in the restoration of a 1928 streetcar known as Car 4. The car will eventually be run on Vancouver's Downtown Historic Railway for the first time providing fully accessible service on this popular attraction.
In partnership with the UBC Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, TRAMS hopes to provide a learning experience for students to design and build a new control unit for the streetcar, but we need your help. High power electronic components aren't cheap; We need to raise $10,000 to make the project possible.
The Transit Museum Society is a non-profit society and is registered with Canada Revenue Agency as a charity. Donations are eligible for a tax credit of up to 43.7%. This means that your actual after-tax cost of a $1,000 is as little as $563.
If you would like to help us bring this piece of history to Vancouver streets, please join us by donating to the restoration fund.
