Where did Car 4 come from?

Car 4 was donated to the Transit Museum Society in 2000 by the government of Belgium. The car spent the last few decades of its life acting as a work car by crews on the Brussels transit system.

Car 4 is what is known as a European PCC, a very similar design to the PCCs which once ran in Vancouver. This is why the car was aquired, because it was the closest replica to Vancouver's old streetcars available. Since the Transit Museum Society paid to have it shipped to Vancouver from Brussels restoration has been slowly progressing with the electrical systems the last major task to complete.
